Being a good "Elmer" (Amateur Radio mentor) involves much more than assisting someone to pass the license examination. I've always been eager to do my part to welcome new operators to the HF bands. Most new hams develop their operating practices--most good, but some not so good--simply by listening to more-experienced hams.
