Five truths

alt

(According to the late Dr. Adrian Rogers (1931-2005) who was the pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church and founder of Love Worth Finding Ministries)

altYou cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

altYou cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

altWhat one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

altThe government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

altWhen half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that, my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

Pat and I subscribe to every truth!  Here is a 6th truth:

“It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government. ”  That wasn’t Newt Gingrich, or Ron Paul, or Ronald Reagan talking. That was George Meany — the former President of the AFL-CIO — in 1955.  Perhaps this was a warning that public sector unions, like those in Wisconsin and other states cannot expect to survive much longer.   They have simply become unaffordable to the taxpayers they serve.
